Simply provide the required credentials in your task instructions so participants know how to access your website.
If your website requires a password or login credentials
If participants see a password or login prompt before they reach your website, include the password in Task 1.
Example:
Test URL: example.com
Task 1
Log in using the following credentials:
Username: test@example.com
Password: yourpassword123
Once you're signed in, continue to the next task.
If the password protected page appears later in the test
If test participants are redirected to a password protected page later in the test, include the access information in that task instead of Task 1.
This helps participants access the protected page at the correct point in the test.
Best practices
Before launching your test:
Verify that the password or login credentials work by opening the website in a private/incognito tab.
Use a dedicated test account instead of a personal account whenever possible.
Don't change the password or credentials while your test is running.
Make sure the account has permission to access every part of the website you want test participants to test.
Troubleshooting
If participants cannot access your website:
Confirm the password or login credentials are correct.
Make sure the website is publicly accessible.
Check whether your website uses additional security measures, such as IP allowlists, geographic restrictions, firewalls, or bot protection. These security features might block participants before they reach the password or login screen.
If you're using temporary passwords or one-time login links, make sure they haven't expired.
If you're still having trouble, contact Userbrain's Support Team at Support@Userbrain.com and include the URL you're testing along with details about how access to the website is protected.
