Setting & Running Tests

We recommend that tests be completable within 5 to 20 minutes. Sticking to this time frame ensures that testers can complete tasks efficiently while providing meaningful feedback.
While there is no strict cut-off or any time constraint if a test takes slightly longer than 20 minutes, we encourage keeping it within this time limit for several reasons:
Feedback Quality: Tests within 5 - 20 minutes are generally more effective for gathering focused, actionable feedback. Tests longer than this may lead to tester fatigue, potentially reducing the quality of insights from testers.
Testing Process: Keeping tests within 5 - 20 minutes helps ensure that testers can engage with your product without becoming overwhelmed or losing focus.
To ensure your tests are doable within 5 - 20 minutes, try breaking down complex scenarios into separate tasks or tests. If you have multiple sections of a website to test, trying dividing the sections into separate tests. Focus on specific features or interactions rather than large, multi-step workflows.
